Back in 1981 the vocalist Kym Amps released a 7” single containing the tracks ‘You Don’t Know My Name (But I Know You)’ and ‘You Love Me’. These pieces of operatic, somewhat avant-garde minimal wave are beguilingly beautiful in a manner that recalls Japan and Talk Talk. After no more was heard from Amps for many years, the Monte Christo label have unearthed a full LP of material - also entitled You Don’t Know My Name (But I Know You) - from around the same era.
