(Margaret) Antwood’s first LP since the much-vaunted Sponsored Content finds the one born Tristan Douglas bringing another persona into his artistic world. Delphi is both the name of this album and a character that Douglas has created alongside his partner Olivia Dreisinger. This lovelorn young woman proves to be a guiding light for a full-length of hyperreal club fare. The ‘Delphi’ motif crops up throughout the record, putting it back on course when the wealth of ideas build up into frenzies of digital noise and neon-bright synths. Lone, Konx-om-Pax and A. G. Cook are brought to mind on cuts like ‘Club Dread’ and ‘Cave Moth’. There are more measured moments on Delphi as well - try the Kingdom Hearts-esque ‘Healing Labyrinth’ or ‘Queasy’, a cut that sounds like the more cerebral moments of Jam City’s Dream A Garden.
