Debutant Data Room steps out on Ecke Records with an eponymous record. In a manner similar to the releases of Gabiola and Lone’s Magicwire imprint, the Data Room EP reshapes the sounds of early rave, jungle and hardcore into something more wistful. Cuts like ‘Laugh Track’ and ‘Photosphere’ feature gentle breakbeats and warm synth pads anchored by solid drum programming. Trust Jumpin’ Jack Frost to up the ante, though - his ‘House Of Dub’ version of ‘Laugh Track’ is one for the junglist in all of us.
