It’s difficult to believe that something as wildly outlandish and inventive as the avant-garde electronica of Jameszoo’s 2017 album fool could translate well into an orchestral setting. But this is precisely what Jules Buckley achieves with Melkweg. Accompanied by the 49-piece Metropole Orkest, Buckley finds disarming beauty in the discord of Jameszoo’s compositions with a striking mixture of strings, electronics and an enormous flair for the dramatic.
