Sound as material, material as sound. Originally conceived as a durational radio installation and performance piece, intrepid sound explorer and Mouse on Mars co-founder Jan St. Werner’s Glottal Wolpertinger sees the acclaimed artist approach sound as volatile material, great sheets of feedback billowing into microtonal crevices, helped along in small part by The National guitarists Aaron and Bryce Dessner. The great swathes of heavenly noise become the semblance of running water, like air into liquid.
