Sofia-based artist Evitceles (Etien Slavchev) returns to Opal Tapes with an album of twisted ravescapes. The Substance Of My Fantasies flits between haunted synthetic atmospheres and broiling, beastly techno tracks. While cuts like ‘Devoid’ and ‘Nightcrawler/Third Night’ lurch out of the speakers with a dark intent similar to Silent Servant, a take such as ‘Within My Vulnerable Thoughts’ serves up the slender-fingered malice of Shapednoise. The Substance Of My Fantasies is yet another superb piece of black-hearted futurism from Opal Tapes.
