Never one to rest on his laurels, Auntie Flo follows up the Radio Highlife LP he dropped late last year with a new set on Disco Halal. The Kabsa EP finds Flo making club tracks that are less sprightly than the explosions of colour he has served up in the past. This is not to say that this record is any less beguiling than Flo’s previous releases, mind - the way he combines deep house with subtle flecks of gqom, kuduro and Balearic beats makes for a hypnotic hybrid sound. Kabsa closes out with a Nicola Crux remix of its title track.
