LA producer and DJ Elvin Estela — aka Nobody — rose to prominence as the go-to for alternative hip hop stalwarts like Busdriver, Nocando and recent game changer Open Mike Eagle, boldly bridging boom bap with an indie rock sentimentality. All Too Familiar, his first solo LP since 2013’s Vivid Green, sees Estela reunite with his guitar for a set of emotive pseudo-ballads, name checking early funk and soul, as well as the producer’s own musical past.
