Loves a remix EP, does Eric Copeland. After Mixbone saw a set of producers tear chunks out of Copeland’s ‘Mixer Shredder’ and ‘Neckbone’, this new release focuses on cuts from 2018’s Trogg Modal, Volume 1. Parris, RAMZi, Lokier and Gerry Read are the crew in charge this time. Copeland’s ‘Heads’ is tackled head-on (pun very much intended) by Parris and RAMZi - the former crushing it into a slow-motion leftfield techno track, the latter blissing out in a sweet bit of dubby Balearic house. Lokier flips ‘321 Contact’ into a neck-snapping EBM-electro jam, and Gerry Read’s remix of ‘Electric Mud’ really puts the ‘freak’ in Copeland’s ‘freakbeat’ aesthetic.
