Pianist Vanessa Wagner tackles the minimalists on her new LP Inland. Both titans of the genre (Philip Glass, Michael Nyman) and some more cultish figures (Moondog, Bryce Dessner) are given the going-over by Wagner here. She interprets all of their works with delicacy and grace, her elegant playing style a perfect match for this pared-back music. As well as being Wagner’s first solo LP to drop through InFiné, Inland is also a milestone for the label - the album brings up a half-century of releases on the imprint.
