Axe Traxx - a sub-label of London’s Axe On Wax that has previously issued records by tape_hiss and Kirk The Flirt - provides Florian Kupfer with the home for his latest EP 4Ever. Kupfer’s first official release in two years sees the former L.I.E.S./Technicolour artist come through with a selection of emotive lo-fi house jams. Ross From Friends and DJ Seinfeld are obvious touchstones for these tunes in the way the nicely grainy production still allows tough four-by-four grooves to come to the fore. The only slight outlier on 4Ever is ‘Why’, a revivalist rave number that draws a little closer to artists like Lone.
