Peggy Gou’s first release of the new year is also the inaugural drop on her new Gudu Records imprint. Given how Gou’s mixes tend to be characterised by impeccable selections, we have no doubt that the label will deliver us some great music in the near future. Gou’s Moment EP is a fantastic way to start, offering up two tracks that double-down on the ebullient house style she has been working to such great effect recently. ‘Starry Night’ is the hit, an undulating two-chord banger that repeats the trick of ‘It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)’. On the flip we get the rhythm attack of ‘Han Pan’, a bouncy tune that could pass for primetime Daphni.
