Another impeccable set of leftfield house and techno from Francois X emerges. Murky Dreams is a pretty apt title for this EP given that all of these cuts sound at once psychedelic and mucky, with glacial pads and snippets of spoken word submerged in their soupy rhythms. The title track, for instance, completely switches up its vibe when the opening swirls of synth are suddenly whizzed away by a snappy drum beat. Pink-era Four Tet, D Tiffany and Nguzunguzu all come to mind when listening to Murky Dreams.
