Verona-based Shinoby continues to impress with his new EP Mutonia. The two Shinoby originals here (‘Mutonia’ and ‘Monster Apparat’) are creepy dystopian dancefloor tracks that, in typical Shinoby fashion, come with an industrial edge which nods to labels like Mannequin Records. ‘Monster Apparat’ sounds like Hot Butter’s ‘Popcorn’ given a seeing to by Peder Mannerfelt. The Mutonia EP closes out with Frak’s twisted Scandi-techno fix of ‘Monster Apparat’. This one’s out via Shinoby’s own ISTHEWAY imprint.
