Johnny Nash and Suzanne Kraft fearlessly pursue the unknown on their first collaborative release as MATstudio. MATstudio 1 features two tracks - each nearing the 20-minute mark - of searching instrumentals of soft abandon, paying little mind to genre or style. Throttling new age and ambient aesthetics much in the way Harold Budd would do later in his career, MATstudio is a treat of a record for anyone in need of boundary-less, long-form experimental music with a harder edge than most.
