Having long cemented himself as a veteran with Blah Records and rap clique Children of the Damned, UK emcee King Grubb strikes it out alone with his first solo LP. The aptly-titled Droopy is a collection of smoked-out, faded boom-bap mastery, beset by Grubb’s matchless lyrical form, quietly braggadocios and naturally self-reflexive on the likes of ‘Hot Dogs’ and the no-holds regality of ‘No Introduction’.
