Innovative Leisure present ZOOSPA, the debut LP from Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum’s new J-E-T-S venture. The pair really show their range here, crafting an array of colourful instrumentals that zip between future r ‘n’ b and digital boom-bap. Cuts like ‘Potions’ and ‘Play’ are somewhere between Rustie and Steve Lacy. It’s no surprise that ZOOSPA’s sparky productions lend themselves well to guest vocals - Mykki Blanco, Dawn Richard, King Jet, Tkay Maidza and Rochelle Jordan all hit the mark when they rock up.
