Here we have a re-press for On Flute, the 2016 EP from Surrey-based funk-botherer Tendelonious. These six tracks find the one born Edward Cawthorne bringing together the two sides of his aesthetic - the Moodymann-indebted deep funk jams, and the flute playing he often busts out as part of the jazz combo Ruby Rushton. It’s easy to see why the likes of Gilles Peterson and Bradley Zero got behind these tracks when On Flute was first released. This new edition of On Flute emerges through Cawthorne’s own 22a imprint.
