Jeff Mills presents the first chapter of his new “The Director’s Cut” series with four luminous examples of what makes his peak time techno tick. Opener 'Suspense' reboots to the 93' classic with a short sharp shock before the swirling sci-fi holding pattern of 'Gamma Player' returns to the alien landscapes Mills was traversing back in the mid-1990s. On the b-side 'Transformation B (Rotwang's Revenge)' and 'Hydra & Synergy meanwhile expand the outlook with quicksilver sound design that shows that this is techno music as much for the dancefloor as for the mind.
