Detroit’s very own Omar S comes through with yet another EP of dancefloor goodness. The Midwest mainstay’s homespun mixture of house and techno is in rude health on 1992. This EP kicks off with ‘Light Year Flight’, an exuberant peak-time jam that’s built around a cracking piano loop. 1992’s title track follows, a cut that is a little more reserved but no less groovy. The outlier is closer ‘Homey Trinitron’, a rare foray into juke and ghettotech. Omar S’s latest EP is out, of course, on FXHE.
