Haider turned a few heads with his excellent debut drop Do What You Love… (2018, Breaker Breaker Records). Support came from DJs the world over, but one who was particularly impressed was Will Saul. Now Saul has snapped up Haider’s second EP 10961 for his own Aus Music. Haider’s soulful, off-kilter club tracks prove to be a perfect fit for Aus. ‘You’ begins the record in curious and arresting fashion, mixing as it does a minimal groove with the sort of post-dubstep/techno hybrids that Joy Orbison was making in the early 2010’s. ‘Yellow Cake’ combines revivalist breaks with the classy soul-house of Moodymann. Wistful electro roller ‘Robocop’ closes out 10961.
