Exploding out of South London on ubiquitous tastemaker label Rhythm Section International is Pinty’s City Limits. Influenced by the streetwise lyricism of UK hip-hop, the MC and DJ’s debut EP fizzles with wily wordplay and horizontal vibes, not least thanks to spotless production by DJ JD SPORTS, AKA King Krule. Lead single ‘Tropical Bleu’ was quietly one of 2018’s best, and cuts like the UK Garage-twinged ‘Nightcrawler’ is sure to turn some heads. Pinty’s considerable chops as a performer, clear since the days of his 2015 mixtape and collabs with RATKING, Astro and Jamie Isaac, is set to reach boiling point, and the hip-hop world is taking notice.
