There’s a real meeting of minds on this new drop from Karlrecords (Iannis Xenakis, Oren Ambarchi). Pleasure-Voltage was initiated by oddball electronics composer Benjamin Finger. After teaming up with former Dälek/John Zorn collaborator Mia Zabelka and James Plotkin (Khanate, Old Lady Drivers) the trio set about creating the two side-length pieces that make up Pleasure-Voltage. Both ‘Hostile Structures’ and ‘Kaleidoscopic Nerves’ are widescreen compositions that take in Icelandic ambiences, contemporary classical piano, malfunctioning synth bug-outs and monolithic drone.
