Originally released on Polydor in 1982, Groenland Records continue their longstanding project of reissuing krautrock’s greatest achievements with Michael Rother’s fourth solo outing Fernwärme. Marking the final collaboration in an unbroken run with Can percussionist Jaki Leibezeit, as well as his first record without longtime co-conspirator Conny Plank, Fernwärme sees Rother facing a brand new phase as a solo artist. Undeterred in his embrace of the experimental — and the popular — this is Rother boldly re-charting his sonic parameters.
