Constituting krautrock legend Michael Rother’s third instalment in an unprecedented run of masterful 70s solo albums, Katzenmusik nonetheless finds the composer playing with a shorter form of mood piece. Spread across 12 tracks, as opposed to the usual five or six, Katzenmusik moves like a majestical suite of future-classical music, an enormous work which takes flight into far skies, until the hue of the heavens turns from blue to black.
