Well well well, new Locust eh? This one’s been a long time coming - we last heard from Mark Van Hoen’s project way back in 2014, and as such there were a few people who wondered where on earth Van Hoen had got to. Turns out that he’d been busying himself in the studio and making some mercilessly hard techno. The track titles on Red - ‘Fuck These Days’, ‘Sick Bitch’ - should be enough to let you know that you’re in for a wild ride here. Harnessing the unrelenting grooves of hard acid, the dark bassweight of The Bug and just a pinch of Modeselektor’s zaniness, these new Locust tunes wipe the floor with the competition.
