Eric Copeland comes through with the sequel to last year’s Trogg Modal LP. Trogg Modal Vol. 2 is another set of livewire and leftfield techno from the Black Dice fellow. Copeland composes his tracks with a ‘freakbeat 4/4’ agenda, and the scuzzy club takes that make up this record expertly stick to that ethos. Quite a few of the cuts here recall the lo-fi, slightly industrial stylings of many L.I.E.S. drops - a label Copeland has released on in the past. Elsewhere on the record we get circuit-fried sample house (‘Light Fantastic’), chiptune Braindance malfunctions (‘High Score Zed’), acid excursions and more. Trogg Modal Vol. 2 is another singular LP from this singular musician.
