Charmingly vintage yet fantastically futuristic, Plus or Minus Two compiles songs from the early career of Kansas City’s OG wave alchemists Short-Term Memory. Having shed numerous members since the group’s inception in 1983, sole original member Jim Skeel steered the project into pioneering techno pop. The 808s are skittish, the synths are squelchy, the vibe is by turns eerie and funky. The EP also features two contemporaneously-recorded, previously unheard cuts.
