Ruby Rushton are certainly keeping us on our toes at the moment. The first few months of 2019 will see the Tenderlonious-led neo-jazz ensemble release new LP Ironside, and this limited-edition single ‘Eleven Grapes’/‘One Mo’ Dram’ is designed to whet the appetite. With their blend of Herbie Hancock-style keyboard funk, dembow rhythms, spiritual jazz flute and thick basslines these tunes are some of the most vital, exuberant work the band has ever produced.
