DMX Krew releases his first LP since 2017’s Strange Directions. That two-year gap implies that DMX Krew has been ferreting away behind the scenes in order to make Glad To Be Sad, but the reality is rather different. This is Edward Upton we’re talking about, the extremely prolific electro fiend who’s dropped four EPs since the beginning of 2018 alone. He takes this momentum into Glad To Be Sad, coming through with a set of hi-octane dystopian dancefloor tunes. While the styles may vary - closer ‘Winter Dance’ is a juicy bit of robo ‘n’ b, while ‘Metal Mod Beat’ has a little Eski to it - maximum dancefloor impact remains the ultimate goal here. Anyone who enjoyed Posthuman’s recent Mutant City Acid LP should train their gaze on Glad To Be Sad.
