Following the success of his self-titled 2017 debut, Osiris sees producer Pessimist live up to his name, while still pushing at the outer reaches of bass music. The title of record opener ‘New Age’ is darkly tongue-in-cheek; where you might expect an endless horizon of soothing ambience, you hear a doggedly monochromatic drum ’n’ bass banger, and it only seems to get more austere from there with the rhythm-adjacent dirge of ‘Kabadaro’.
