Bleep

The sophomore LP from Sean Hellfritsch’s Cool Maritime project arrives via Leaving Records (Ras G, The Cyclist). When the album is entitled Sharing Waves and contains songs called things like ‘Forest Bathing’ and ‘A Restful Place’ it’s safe to assume that you’ve got a set of ambient music on your hands. Cool Maritime’s trick is to draw out his tranquil tones from modular synthesisers in a manner similar to Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and the Balearic-sounding work of Arthur Russell (think ‘Let’s Go Swimming’ rather than ‘Go Bang!’). Sharing Waves is a lovely record.
