The first Eglo drop of 2019 comes courtesy of Patrick Gibin, an artist who has previously scored releases on Blend It! and Razor N Tape. For this two-track affair Gibin has recruited the silky tones of Detroit’s Javonntte and keys man MdCL. The trio work in perfect harmony on both ‘Cloud Nine’ and B-side ‘I Like To Show You’ - while the former is the kind of soulful jazz-house affair that has become Eglo’s stock-in-trade over the past few years, ‘I Like To Show You’ features a snapping groove and squelching synths one normally associates with prime-time Prince.
