Dead Can Dance
The Serpent's Egg (Remastered)
Catalogue Number
Release Date
June 2, 2008

Throughout the ‘80s and the best part of the ‘90s Dead Can Dance were one of the jewels in 4AD’s crown. The group served up several albums of brooding, operatic synth music that struck a chord with both the New Romantic and Goth clans. 1988 LP The Serpent’s Egg remains one of their most enduring works. The pagan poetry of numbers like ‘Ulysses’ brings to mind the likes of Kate Bush and Björk.
