The latest LP from Machinefabriek finds the one born Rutger Zuydervelt come through with a set of collaborations. In a sense, With Voices is a very literal title for this record. Machinefabriek pairs his FM drones with a different vocalist on each track here - Richard Youngs, Peter Broderick and Marissa Nadler are but three of those who feature. However, while some cuts find the voices clearly discernible, others have the singing folded into the fabric of the mix. With Voices is a cerebral, often beautiful listen that will appeal to fans of Active Child and Ian William Craig.
