Waltz With Bashir/96 Hours composer Max Richter’s score for Josie Rourke’s Mary Queen Of Scots gets a standalone release. This is a typically elegant collection from Richter. The combination of Romantic string arrangements with deft orchestration and a neo-classicist's eye for texture makes for a highly evocative listen that works just as well when taken away from the big screen. A stirring, stormy and swashbuckling soundtrack from one of modern cinema’s preeminent composers.
