Some of the tracks from Zoë McPherson’s String Figures LP get the remix treatment on this new release. String Figures was a dark and moody record that drew from artists like Coil and Shackleton, and as such it’s no surprise to discover that most of these reworkings are brooding affairs. Entries by Ben Vince, N1L and Hester-1 skulk moodily at the edge of the dancefloor, while Sukitoa o Namau’s take on ‘Sabotage Story’ is a disorientating drift into electroacoustics. Soundsystem techno tracks from Strahinja Arbutina and Bartellow give the String Figures Remixes EP club appeal.
