Dutch label Frustrated Funk (Cybonix, Adapta) offer to host the latest EP from Bitstream. The tracks that make up Switch Holo are strange club tunes that have a strong retro flavour to them. ‘Screens’, for instance, is an ethereal bit of braindance that recalls the heyday of Rephlex. Elsewhere on Switch Holo ‘Stream Philter’ is an obtuse slow techno number that nods to Metrist’s recent material, electro jam ‘Tactic’ has a bassline that sounds like a revving motorcycle, and the EP’s title cut is a pleasing bit of Detroit worship.
