Umwelt and Ryan James Ford take a side each on this new Repitch drop. The two A-sides from Umwelt are hard techno jams par excellence - ‘Aqua Mission’ is fiendish and dystopian, while ‘Sidereal Storm’ shows off a beat-heavy sensibility similar to Benjamin Damage. Ford kicks off the B-side with ‘Extra Soft Loaf’, another propulsive DJ tool but with synths that are a mite more welcoming than those on Umwelt’s offerings. The eerie and minimal ‘Guzzi’ rounds out an excellent EP.
