On this latest drop from Youth Records (Sin Falta, Shamos) we find Bryce Hackford going with the flow. Taped from improvised machine jams, the cuts on the search engine-averse ::::::::::::: EP are more freeform than the ambitious NYC house takes for which Hackford is known. Only ‘__2’, with its sunset Balearic groove, could have slotted neatly into a release like 2014’s Amnesia LP. This off-the-cuff method of creation leads Hackford to some interesting new places - ‘Stays_3’, for instance, brings together the micro-house of Jan Jelinek with a tough Berlin techno sound.
