Little is known of Southend-on-Sea project Liberez, despite having peerlessly treaded the outer wilds of British industrial music for nearly a decade. If you slept on 2013’s Sane Men Surround and 2015’s All Tense Now Lax, Way Through Vulnerability will slip by too, but it shouldn’t. Where we expected to hear lo-fi experimentation, Liberez have instead wrought something quietly majestic and unexpectedly cinematic — like Einstürzende Neubauten’s ‘Silence is Sexy’ on Hans Zimmer’s dollar.
