Be With Records are reissuing a run of library LPs cut in the 1970s for the soundtrack music group KPM. One of these is James Clarke’s 1974 album Mystery Movie. Mystery Movie was made for KPM’s Themes International Library branch, and its tracks do what they say on the tin - after all, they wouldn’t be good library music if they didn’t. However, Clarke’s collection of tension-building jazz-funk instrumentals is so well composed that it more than holds up as a listen in its own right. As with Be With’s other KPM reissues Mystery Movie has been remastered from the original tapes.
