After the great success of their 2017 compilation Welcome To Zamrock!, the Now Again label have decided to repeat the trick. Welcome To Zamrock! Volume 2: How Zambia’s Liberation Led To A Rock Revolution 1972-1977 does a fine job of representing the surfeit of great rock and funk styles that emanated from Zambia in the years after the country gained independence. With little of the scene surviving in the present day due to the variant socio-political problems of the subsequent decades, compilations like this one are vital works of musical excavation.
