Newcomers Clouds Of Kouros drop an EP of DJ tools. Reasons Why’s title track is an exercise in throwback breakbeat that will appeal to anyone who’s been digging the hardcore revivalism of artists like Special Request and Deapmash. The rolling drum take, looping garage vocal and sombre synth chords will transport you straight back to 1993. Closer ‘Feel My Heart’ does a similar thing. Sandwiched between the two we have tech-house joint ‘System Deep’, a tense roller that wouldn’t sound out of place on Innervisions or Ostgut Ton.
