Black Lodge draws to a close the third and final piece of the Kings Arms sessions triptych with Lodge Wars (named after the long deceased Black Lodge blog). A rawer, noisier companion piece to the strangely becalmed Bitter Blood collection released earlier this year, Lodge Wars assaults the listener with fragments of spoken word, organ drone, distorted fever dream bass, and 1980s proto-tekno, a decayed rave tape found in the Salford snow. It completes the excavation of the Black Lodge archives also showcased on the long mythical Mo'Wax 12" 'Hotline' (recently released via Warp's reactivated Arcola imprint) and finalizes the deal made on his two inaugural and impossible to track down Kings Arms cassette sessions, released on The Trilogy Tapes back in 2010. Lodge Wars completes the triangle by returning to the roots of the project, diving back into the archive to find a new direction forward.
