First of all, let’s get one thing straight - Traxmen are not to be confused with Traxman, though both are from Chicago and were releasing records on Dance Mania in the mid-90’s. This quartet of Eric Martin, Robert Woods, Paul Johnson and Gant-Man kicked off their Basement Trax series on the legendary ghetto-house imprint in 1994. Now Anotherday (DJ Bone, Boo Williams) are reissuing some of the Basement Traxx editions. Vol. III features four superb examples of golden-age ghettotech and early juke. It should be noted that, though these numbers featured in the initial Basement Traxx run, the tracklist of this Volume III is not the same as 1995’s Volume III.
