After whetting appetites back in 2017 with debut single ‘My Way’/‘Night Ride’, Same Waves now deliver their debut LP on flau. Anyone who was beguiled by the dream-pop style the group exhibited when they first came out will find plenty to love about Algorithm Of Desire. This is a record of rich and evocative songwriting. St. Etienne, Joanne Robertson and Arthur Russell are all brought to mind here. At times the duo allow their experimental tendencies free reign - check the Grouper-esque rumble of ‘Time And Tide’.
