Egyptian mind-melter Zuli makes good on the promise of his two EPs for UIQ with a killer LP on Lee Gamble’s label. Terminal is an album of futuristic, progressive electronic pieces. Hip-hop, grime, techno, juke, electroacoustic composition and many other styles are all thrown in the blender here, but Zuli’s trick is that his record never fits comfortably into any genre. This refusal to be pigeonholed and relentless quest for new sonics places Zuli alongside innovators like Afrikan Sciences and Hieroglyphic Being.
