Jan Nemeček is a pretty hot name in his native Belgrade - among other things, he curates the online label Norbu and is a resident at the acclaimed venue Drugstore. With his new -OUS LP Recurrences, Nemeček shows off his arresting brand of power-ambient music. Tracks such as ‘Organs’ and ‘Alone’ feature the sort of monolithic drones one associates with a label like Posh Isolation. There is also the ghost of a Brainfeeder-style hip-hop aesthetic on cuts like ‘Feel Safe’ and ‘Saws (Beats)’.
