The debut release from North Sea Dialect arrives on Numbers. Local Guide is an LP of dark and stormy electronic music. Stylistically the record sits on the border of a few genres: the deconstructed club styles of Ziur and Arca, Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement’s humid industrial ambiences, the wacky beatwork of Iglooghost and the frosty techno of Answer Code Request all exert some pressure on this record. It’s not your normal Numbers fare, but that’s not to say that they’ve fallen off. Indeed, this is one of the most original albums to drop in 2018.
